Riteo Terms of Use
Version 3 · In force from 14.10.2026
This is a translation. In case of any discrepancy, the Latvian text prevails.
These terms govern the use of Riteo. The privacy policy explains how personal data are processed. Accepting the terms is not in itself consent to analytics or advertising measurement.
1. Service provider and service
The service is provided by SIA "IT Holding", registration No. 40103880815, Kaivas iela 29 k-1 - 60, Riga, LV-1021, Latvia. Contact: [email protected].
Riteo is a digital garage: car cards and documents, mileage and inspection history, OCTA and KASKO deadlines, a service plan, expenses, tyres, a list of official dealers and services, and an AI mechanic. The available marketplace features include listings, messages and reviews. The availability of specific features may differ by country and app version.
Riteo runs on the IT Holding platform. The sign-in account is shared with other IT Holding products. In the profile you can choose "Delete Riteo data only" — the platform account remains — or "Delete account" — Riteo data are deleted and the platform account is closed, which also affects other IT Holding products.
2. Registration and acceptance of the terms
Riteo is intended for persons aged 18 and over. By registering you accept the version of the terms shown at that time. You can save the terms on your device. If you act on behalf of a company, you must be duly authorised.
Sign-in options are shown in the app and may include Google, Apple, Smart-ID, e-mail or phone. Keep your access secure and do not give your account to anyone else; for shared use of a car, use roles and invitations. If you notice unauthorised access, tell us. Actions in an account are not irrefutable proof that you performed them.
A private individual may keep up to two cars and one motorcycle in the garage free of charge. These terms do not provide for an automatic charge for any further vehicle. Any paid feature requires the price and conditions to be shown in advance and your agreement. Dealer services, including the stock data feed, are governed by a separate contract.
3. Roles and rights to the car
"Owner" in Riteo means the card manager role. This role does not in itself certify legal ownership. A card may also be managed by a lawful keeper or an authorised representative, for example the user of a leased car or a company representative.
The registration certificate photo helps compare the document data with the card data. Uploading the photo is not an independent check of ownership, document authenticity or the right to sell the car. The user is responsible for having the right to add the document and to perform the chosen action.
| Role | Access |
|---|---|
| Card manager ("owner") | Manages the card and the access granted; sells the car only with legal authority. |
| Driver | By invitation, accesses shared records and enters expenses. The role does not in itself give the right to delete or transfer the card, change tyre data or publish a sale listing. |
| Watcher | Follows the available deadlines; the role does not give the right to manage the card or receive another person's private documents. |
A card may have several managers. The privacy policy explains shared data and the visibility of private records. Invite only a person who has a connection to the car and has agreed to the invitation. On the invitation page, before accepting, the invited person sees a link to the privacy policy. An invitation is not permission to use data for other purposes.
The meaning of the "Verified" mark is shown in the app next to the mark: it states what exactly was checked — the registration certificate was read, the name matches the profile, or the data were received from CSDD. The mark is not a guarantee of the car's technical condition, the seller's good faith or ownership.
4. Transferring a card to another user
The card manager creates a transfer code; the recipient uses it within 7 days. What is transferred is the card in Riteo, not legal ownership of the car. The transfer does not replace a sale and purchase agreement, payment or registration of the change of owner with CSDD or another competent registry.
The mileage history, inspection records and tyre data pass with the card. The seller's private expenses, policies, invoices, documents, chats and photos do not pass to the recipient and are deleted.
Before you confirm, the app warns you about the data to be deleted and lets you download a copy (export) of your Riteo data. The transfer happens only after a separate confirmation. Transferring a card does not mean closing the seller's account. If there are several managers or a dispute about access, contact support before the transfer.
5. Data, reminders and AI
Reminders. Riteo helps you follow deadlines but does not relieve you of the duty to have valid insurance, a roadworthiness inspection and suitable tyres. Delivery of reminders may be affected by device settings, connectivity and technical disruptions. Check dates and permissions; Riteo's liability for the operation of its own service is set out in section 11.
Data sources. Records may come from the user, an uploaded document, the registry or a catalogue. Registry data may be delayed. "From the registry" and "read from a document" are different sources: OCR reading does not prove that a document is authentic. Report any inconsistency.
Mileage. A decrease between records may indicate an odometer replacement, an input error or another inconsistency. The mark "mileage decrease detected" is not an expert assessment or proof of fraud. Check the sources and dates of the records before drawing a conclusion.
AI. AI helps read documents, answer questions, prepare maintenance recommendations, translate messages and provide support. It can make mistakes. Check the read fields before saving. An AI mechanic answer is not a technical diagnosis and does not confirm that driving is safe. Do not test problems with brakes, steering or other safety-critical systems by driving; a technical inspection is needed.
Price guide. The suggestion is based on data on similar offers, or on an AI estimate if there are not enough data; we show its source next to the suggestion. It is not a certified valuation or a guaranteed deal price. The price is set by the seller.
Dealers and services. Contact details of official dealers and services come from public sources and may be out of date. Riteo does not represent these companies.
6. Insurance and selling a car
In the service described in this version, Riteo stores policy data and reminds you of deadlines; within this feature SIA "IT Holding" is not an insurer, does not conclude insurance contracts and does not accept insurance payments. If an insurance application or a partner service is offered, the provider, Riteo's role, the data recipients and the relevant conditions will be stated before you use it.
The car sale and purchase agreement is concluded by the seller and the buyer. Riteo is not a party to that transaction and does not offer escrow of the payment or a guarantee. The existence of a listing is not a check of the car or the seller. The seller must state clearly whether they act as a private individual or a company, and describe the price and material conditions truthfully.
The mark "deal took place" records the buyer's statement and enables a review; Riteo does not independently verify payment or the change of owner.
7. Your obligations and rights to content
- Enter true data and correct errors you notice.
- Add only documents and content you have the right to use; this includes cars you lawfully use or that belong to a company you represent.
- Do not pass off someone else's car as your own, and do not use documents or access codes without authority.
- Do not send spam, threats, fraudulent or otherwise illegal content, and do not try to circumvent access or communication safeguards.
- In reviews, describe your own experience; do not publish another person's documents or unnecessary personal data.
You keep the rights to your content. For the service to work you grant Riteo a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, technically process, translate where needed and display this content only to the extent needed for the chosen features and audience. This permission does not in itself give the right to use private documents in advertising or for training AI models. The permission ends when the content is deleted, subject to the retention periods described in the privacy policy.
8. Messages, reviews, support and moderation
Messages may be translated automatically; the original is kept. If a translation affects the terms of a deal, compare the original and clarify with the other party. An automated filter may flag or hide links, contact details, repetitions and possible spam. It can make mistakes; you can ask for the decision to be reviewed by a human.
When you delete a message, the other party immediately sees the mark "message deleted" instead. Riteo keeps the message text under restricted access for 100 days for fraud investigation or a deal dispute, then erases it.
Reviews are public and available for business sellers after the buyer confirms the deal. Riteo may restrict a review for breaching the terms; a critical opinion is not in itself a breach.
The first support answer may be given by an AI assistant, whose answers are labelled "Riteo assistant (AI)". You can ask for help from a human, including on a legal or payment matter.
Report possibly illegal content or a breach of the terms through the in-app complaint function or at [email protected]. Give the link or the listing/message identifier, the reason and your contact details if needed for a reply. Complaints about content and automated restrictions are assessed by a human.
Depending on the seriousness and repetition of a breach, we may restrict specific content or a feature, suspend access to Riteo or end the Riteo service. We choose a proportionate measure. We warn in advance where this is possible without harm to others or to an investigation.
In a notice of restriction we state its reason, scope, the rule applied and the use of automation, to the extent permitted by law. You can ask for the decision to be reviewed at [email protected], stating the decision and your objections. This does not limit statutory complaint or litigation options. A Riteo restriction does not in itself mean closing all other platform services.
9. Public data
By publishing a sale listing you make public the listing photos, price, equipment, the available mileage history and the price guide. The seller page shows the first name, last-name initial and the cars for sale.
While the car is for sale, anyone can view by its plate number, without signing in, the make, model, year, whether it has a manager in Riteo, the date since the car has been in Riteo, the latest mileage and its date, the number of records, a mileage decrease indicator, the inspection deadline, sale status and price. This report contains no name, VIN or private documents.
When the car is taken off sale, the report by plate number is no longer publicly available in Riteo. We do not provide such a public report for cars not for sale. Riteo cannot recall copies that other persons have already saved on their own.
10. Data, deletion and ending the service
Receiving, correcting and deleting data are governed by the privacy policy. You may stop using Riteo and request a copy of your data before deletion. Closing an account or a breach does not take away data protection rights.
If the car has another lawful manager or recipient, the shared mileage and inspection history stays with the car, as explained in the privacy policy. If only watchers remain on the car, we delete its history 3 months after the last manager left. A watcher's or driver's link does not in itself justify keeping a former user's data indefinitely.
11. Liability and consumer rights
Riteo provides the service with due care and is liable in accordance with applicable law. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, perfectly accurate external data or error-free AI answers. These limitations do not exclude liability for breach of Riteo's own obligations.
The user is responsible for the data they submit, their rights to content, fulfilling the statutory obligations relating to the car and transactions they conclude independently. Other users' actions are not automatically Riteo's actions; this does not remove Riteo's obligations regarding the service it provides and reports of violations it receives.
No part of these terms excludes or limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, including, where applicable, for intentional acts, gross negligence or harm to life and health. Mandatory consumer and personal data protection rights are not limited. The absence of a fee does not in itself remove these rights.
12. Changes to the terms and the service
Changes may be needed because of legislation, security, technology, external integrations or justified improvements to the service. We inform you of material changes to the terms at least 14 days in advance, except for urgent legal or security requirements, of which we inform you as soon as possible.
If a change to the digital service affects access or use negatively and more than trivially, we apply the information on a durable medium and the termination or other rights provided by law. In these cases the 14-day notice does not replace mandatory statutory periods. If explicit consent is needed, continued use does not replace it. You can receive your data before ending the service.
13. Applicable law and disputes
The law of the Republic of Latvia applies. This choice does not deprive a consumer of the mandatory protection provided by the law of their country of habitual residence.
You can first send a complaint to [email protected]. This is not a mandatory step before going to court. A consumer may turn to the Consumer Rights Protection Centre (Patērētāju tiesību aizsardzības centrs) and use the applicable out-of-court dispute resolution procedure.
Jurisdiction over disputes is determined by applicable Latvian and EU law. A consumer keeps the right to go to the court of their place of residence where that law provides for it; Latvian courts do not have exclusive jurisdiction over all consumers.
